Joy of Not Working

Ahhh....is all I can say. I am in between contract jobs by choice, and I am taking some time off to travel to a land far, far away. What day is today? Truthfully, I just don't know right off hand, and it doesn't matter too much as long as I keep my social calendar on track. Tee hee. I am enjoying this freedom of time to no end. Ok, hate me if you want.

SF Weekly Cancer Horoscope

For years, I lived 13 miles from the top of Mt. Tamalpais, the highest peak in the San Francisco Bay Area. Every day I gazed at it from afar through my window or while riding my bike in the hills, marveling as it glided through its ever-shifting relationship with the sky. It was a remote yet familiar beacon, an awe-inspiring touchstone against which I could measure my own undulating rhythms. Now I've moved to a new home at the foot of Mt. Tam. I feel as if I've become part of it--am embedded in its protective and majestic aura. It's no longer an objective gauge, but rather an intimate tone and texture in my subjective experience of myself. I predict that you will soon undergo a comparable shift, Cancerian: from being there to being here; from outside to inside; from strength absorbed at a distance to power felt up close.

Lift Up

I recently started a new business opportunity selling and representing a skincare company. I am giving it a shot, seeing where it takes me as I believe in this product and company and love every one of their products I have tried so far. I have reached out to friends and family for their support, and a good number of the people I contacted, supported me full-heartedly without hesitation for whatever reason, I love them as they believe in me.

But then, I have also run up against others who blatantly shot me down with a heavy "no" without giving it a chance without having faith in my choices without thinking this may be a good thing. You learn about yourself and about other people when you run into adversity, into hard times, into challenges to fear, challenges to routine, challenges to life. Those who are behind me, I will take with me, and those who believe in me not only lift me but will end up lifting themselves. You'll see.

Beautiful Suri

Tom and Kate's baby Suri is so absolutely precious. I flipped through the new Vanity Fair issue yesterday that features a picture spread of the little family, including their new addition of milky-skinned, blue-grey eyed Suri. It is amazing, but depending on what angle you look at her she looks like either Tom or Kate at any given moment, a perfect blend of the good looks of both of her parents. They look over her so adoringly in all of those pictures. That child is going to be so loved.
