Coldplay Rocks!
Greg and I saw Coldplay in concert last Friday at the HP Pavillion, and even though we both weren't feeling great with colds that were beginning and ending, Coldplay took us out of our boxes for one evening. The lights and colors of their concert served a nice touch to their tunes familiar and classic to new and upbeat. And I love Chris Martin's self-deprecating humor. He said something like thank you for coming out to see them in concert that night because he knows there are a lot of fun things to do on a Friday night. "Thanks for coming out to see us old guys who like to play soft rock"!!
What? Of course, we'd love to spend time with Coldplay on a Friday evening! Are you kidding me? Chris moved around the stage to make us feel like he was singing to all of us (he's a goofy, funny dancer!), and then the band moved around too! They ran out to a small stage that raised in the middle of the floor where they jammed it out! Then, later they ran all the way to the back of the stadium near the back rafters and jammed it out back there - we couldn't see them well, but what a thrill it must've been for those in the back who did not expect to see Coldplay right in front of their eyes!
What a great way to mix it up and keep it interesting for all of us, and probably for Coldplay themselves! By the end of the show, we were all on our feet singing with them wishing the show could go on and on. Viva la Vida, Coldplay!
